  • Health Professionals From Sierra Leone, Conduct Study Visit to MSD

    Health professionals from Sierra Leone today visited the Medicines Depot (MSD) with the aim of learning and exchanging experiences on Supply, Storage, Operations, Procurement, Customer Service, Policy, Quality Control, as well as other matters related to the supply chain of health products.

  • Somalia Partnering with MSD, Procurement of Health Products

    Somali President His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has said that his country has decided to collaborate closely with the Tanzanian Medicines Agency in the procurement of health products and exchange experiences on how the health supply chain works.

    President Mahamud, who is on a visit to Tanzania, said this when he visited MSD, adding that from MSD's experience, they are confident that the quality of health products will be guaranteed.

  • Dodoma Regional Commissioner Commends MSD for Service Improvements

    Dodoma Regional Commissioner, Hon. Rosemary Senyamule has commended the leadership of the Medical Supply Department (MSD) for the major changes underway in the institution, which have largely helped reduce complaints of shortages of health products in the country, for example complaints of shortages of medicines.

  • MSD to distribute 22 million vitamin A tablets in the country

    The Retired Fourth President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, has handed over to the Government of Tanzania through the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Godwin Mollel, on behalf of the Minister of Health, Hon. Ummy Mwalimu, 22 million tablets of Vitamin A drops for children, provided by the Government of Canada, through the Nutrition International (NI) organization.

    Dr. Kikwete, has handed over the medicines as one of the board members of the Nutrition International Organization, which is the one who provided the assistance.

  • MSD Meets with Laboratory Experts in the Country

    The Tanzania Medical Device (MSD) has met with laboratory experts who are the Managers of laboratories in Regional, Special, Zone and National Referral Hospitals. The three-day meeting in Dar es Salaam aims to assess the availability and quality of laboratory health products distributed to health care facilities in the country.

    Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the Director General of MSD, Mavere Tukai, told participants to use the three days planned to ensure that they come up with solutions to the challenges that arise in this laboratory sector.
