Dodoma Zone.
Established in 2007, the MSD Dodoma Zone serves as a key distribution point for health commodities in Central Tanzania, covering the Dodoma Region, Singida Region, and Kiteto District in Manyara Region. Owing to its strategic location and logistical efficiency, the Dodoma Zone plays a vital role in ensuring a reliable and consistent supply of health commodities across its service areas.

Service Area and Coverage
According to the 2022 Tanzania Population and Housing Census, the Dodoma Zone supports a combined population of 5,445,988 people, guaranteeing access to quality and affordable health products. The breakdown is as follows: Dodoma Region: 3,085,625 people, Singida Region: 2,008,058 people, Kiteto District (Manyara Region): 352,305 people

The zone serves a customer base of over 800 health facilities, ranging from primary to tertiary levels, including:
1. Tertiary and Secondary Institutions – 1 Zonal Referral Hospital, 1 Specialized Hospital, and 2 Regional Referral Hospitals.

2. Primary Health Facilities – 20 District Hospitals under the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), 116 Health Centers, and 652 Dispensaries.

3. Faith-Based and Other Institutions – 12 Faith-Based Hospitals and 23 Government and Non-Government Institutions.
Through this extensive network, MSD Dodoma Zone ensures last-mile delivery of health commodities to even the most remote areas, strengthening the overall public healthcare system.

Storage and Operational Capacity
The Dodoma Zone operates a modern 6,534-square-meter warehouse, equipped to handle, store, and distribute a wide range of health commodities under strict compliance with Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP).
To support timely and efficient deliveries, the zone manages a fleet of 14 distribution vehicles of varying capacities, ensuring seamless logistics across all service regions.

Behind its operational excellence is a dedicated team of 38 professionals, including logistics specialists, pharmacists, accountants, sales representatives, customer service officers, bio-technicians, and drivers. Their expertise and commitment enable MSD Dodoma Zone to maintain high service standards, ensuring the availability, quality, and accessibility of health commodities throughout its service area.
