Iringa Zone

The MSD Iringa Zone was officially established on April 7, 2004. It is one of MSD's ten operational zones, covering the southern regions of Tanzania. The establishment of the MSD Iringa Zone was part of the Tanzanian government's strategic initiatives to decentralize the distribution of medical supplies, ensuring access to essential health commodities in more remote and underserved areas.

Kagera Zone

Kagera SBU was established in 2013 as a sales point under Mwanza SBU and became an independent SBU in 2021. It serves one region (Kagera) and three councils of the Geita region (Mbogwe DC, Chato DC, and Bukombe DC), makingeleven councils. Kagera SBU is in the extreme northwestern corner of Tanzania's mainland.It has thirty-nine (39) staff andserves 469 health facilities in different areas, from dispensaries to zonallevel. These facilities include Government facilities, Faith-Based Organizations, and some private facilities. Some of these facilities are located in Lake Victoria islands.

Tanga Zone

Tanga is one of 10 MSD zones. It was established in 2015 as a Sales Point center working under the Kilimanjaro Zone, previously known as Moshi Zone. Tanga Sales Point serves only one region, the Tanga Region. In 2019, the sales point was upgraded to a Zonal office to save some Districts and health facilities from the Kilimanjaro and Manyara regions. This makes a total of 14 districts. The upgrade also gave the staff more authority in dealing with customers and ensuring smooth operations.

Mwanza Zone

Mwanza Zone Overview

Established in 1993, the Mwanza Zone of the Medical Stores Department (MSD) serves the regions of Mwanza, Shinyanga, Mara, and Simiyu, as well as the districts of Nyang’hwale, Geita Municipal, and Geita District Council within the Geita region. This expansive service area encompasses a total of 1,337 health facilities, including 1 Zonal Hospital, 5 Regional Referral Hospitals, 50 Hospitals (comprising District, Faith-Based, and Military Hospitals), and 144 Health Centres. and 1,137 Dispensaries
