Somalia's Ministry of Health Comes to Study MSD and Exchange Experiences
The Ministry of Health in Somalia has chosen Tanzania through the Medicines Depot (MSD) to collaborate on various issues related to the health supply chain by exchanging experiences in the areas of systems, procurement, distribution and quality control.
This was stated by officials from the Ministry of Health from Somalia who visited the Medicines Depot (MSD), where the representative of the visit, Mohamed Abdulukadiri Hersi, explained that the various steps taken by the Government of Tanzania through the Medicines Depot in the systems used in the entire supply chain that use technology are what most attracted them to come and learn by seeing how it works and how it is compatible with other government systems.
Hersi added that Somalia is in the process of rebuilding its health supply system, including improving the process of delivering health products to the citizens, so among the countries they chose as a model is Tanzania, where through MSD he said they have learned a lot that they will implement when they return.
MSD Managing Director Mavere Tukai explained that these visitors have come to Tanzania at an opportune time when MSD has made major operational changes, including commercialization, and made various improvements throughout the entire healthcare supply chain, so they will learn a lot.
