Somali President His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has said that his country has decided to collaborate closely with the Tanzanian Medicines Agency in the procurement of health products and exchange experiences on how the health supply chain works.

President Mahamud, who is on a visit to Tanzania, said this when he visited MSD, adding that from MSD's experience, they are confident that the quality of health products will be guaranteed.

And the Minister of Health, Hon. Ummy Mwalimu, explained that now that Somalia is a member state of the East African Community, Tanzania through MSD will be able to purchase health products together to obtain these products at affordable prices.

He added that, the Presidents of the two countries, namely Tanzania and Somalia, have instructed their Ministers of Health to sit together and look at ways to collaborate on issues of easy access to health products, focusing on quality and at affordable prices.

The Somali leader and his delegation spoke with leaders of the Ministry of Health, MSD Management and visited the MSD headquarters' medicine warehouse.
