MSD PROVIDES A 75 KVA GENERATOR FOR KITETO DISTRICT HOSPITAL

Kiteto District Council Hospital in Manyara Region has overcome the challenge of interrupting some medical services such as surgery and when there is a power outage after the MSD General Depot handed over a generator worth 65 million shillings that will be used to improve health services at the hospital. Speaking at a handover ceremony in Kibaya town in Kiteto district, MSD Dodoma Zone Manager Mwanashehe Jumaa said the 75 KVA generator is part of the health equipment requirements worth more than 699 million shillings ordered by the hospital for the MSD General Depot in the 2023/2024 financial year.

He said MSD has already handed over other equipment ordered at the hospital worth 683 million shillings, equivalent to 98 percent of the equipment ordered by the council through MSD and has promised to complete the remaining part at any time from now on, which is a mortuary cabinet.Kiteto District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vicent Gyunda has thanked the Dodoma Regional Medical Center for handing over the generator on time which will now enable the provision of surgical services for patients, providing warmth to children and mortuary services.

Speaking at the event, the guest of honor, Manyara Regional Commissioner Queen Sendiga, has instructed the management of the Council's hospital to allocate a budget for fuel for the generator so that it can be used whenever there is a power outage. Kiteto District is among the areas where electricity service is constantly cut off due to the deterioration of infrastructure, which has hampered the provision of medical services that require electricity at the District Council's hospital in Kibaya.
