MSD Peer Educators Educated

Dar es Salaam

Peer Educators who are Medical Depot (MSD) employees are being trained to protect themselves from HIV infection and non-communicable diseases.

The three-day training involves peer educators from all MSD Zones and Departments, who will be educators of other employees.

The MSD policy on protecting employees against HIV and non-communicable diseases states that each MSD Zone and Department is required to have a peer educator so that they can help other employees on how to protect themselves from HIV and non-communicable diseases.

A trainer from Muhimbili National Hospital, Dr. Kweka, said that HIV education in the workplace enables employees to focus on the important pillars of ensuring knowledge and information about the aforementioned diseases, training, awareness of voluntary testing, care and support for victims.

In addition, employees will be active in the campaign to prevent and control these diseases.
