The Coast Regional Referral Hospital - Tumbi has started providing a new dialysis service for kidney patients. This service has been provided after the Medical Depot (MSD) completed the installation of 10 modern dialysis machines, after the Tumbi Referral Hospital improved the infrastructure to enable the service to be available.

The move is a continuation of the improvements in health services in the country carried out by the sixth phase government through the Ministry of Health.

The Hospital's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Amani Malima said that so far the service has already been provided to three patients and the service has been 100 percent successful.

For his part, MSD Medical Equipment Technician Ikunda Harrison said that apart from installing these machines, MSD provided training to the hospital's service providers, where currently MSD's main role is to ensure that the reagents for these machines continue to be available at all times to avoid disrupting services
