MSD Delivers 500 Million worth of Shillings Medical Equipment to Kisemvule District Hospital
THE GOVERNMENT through the Medical Supply Department (MSD), has handed over medical equipment worth 500 million shillings to the Ilala District Hospital (Kivule), with the aim of improving the quality of service delivery in the district.
The equipment includes beds, ICU ventilators, wheelchairs, refrigerators for storing blood and samples, examination beds, suction machines, ultrasound machines, mattresses and sheets.
Speaking upon receiving the equipment, the Chief Medical Officer of the Dar es Salaam City Council, Dr. Zaituni Hamza, thanked the Sixth Phase government, under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for the arrival of the equipment, as it reflects the commitment and determination to improve health services in the country.
He added that maternal and child services have now improved more than ever, which is leading to a decrease in maternal and newborn deaths during childbirth.
At another stage, he congratulated MSD Director General Mavere Tukai, for the improvements in services, which have now improved, with improved communication between the warehouse and its customers, which has resulted in hospitals receiving immediate assistance when they need it.
