MSD Commended for Service Reforms, Within a Short Time.
The Medical Officer of Makorora Health Center in Tanga region, Dr. Angelina Meshack, has commended the government through MSD, after receiving operating room equipment including a surgical bed, a sleep medicine machine and lights used during surgery, saying that the equipment is a great help to the center because previously there were challenges in providing services.
"Initially we were not performing surgeries at all so when we received funds for the renovation of the operating rooms we did so and later the equipment was brought by MSD and started providing surgical services". Said Dr. Angelina
She said that after receiving the equipment, they began providing various surgical services for pregnant women including minor surgeries because previously they were taking patients to Bombo Hospital because the service was not available at the center.
"With the arrival of these equipment, it has made it easier for a pregnant mother to directly provide surgical services and we save the life of the mother and the baby". She said.
In addition, Dr. Angelina said they were also given a generator for the hospital but decided to contact the chief medical officer's office so that they could take it and hand it over to other facilities that do not have generators because the facility had a generator that they had previously purchased.
She explained that the availability of medicines at the facility is good as currently 90 percent of essential medicines are available and they continue to provide quality services to the public.
