Government hands over 900 million medical equipment to Ifakara Council

THE GOVERNMENT through the Medical Supply Department (MSD), has handed over medical equipment worth 900 million shillings to the Ifakara City Council.
Speaking yesterday in the region, Kilombero MP Hon. Abubakar Asenga, said the arrival of the equipment will help improve health services so they thank the government for the major step of improvements in the sector.
He explained that the constituency had seven important and major problems that have never been solved since gaining Independence but President Dr. Samia has solved them including the road construction project, water, renovation of the Kidatu power station, construction of ward schools, health centers, dispensaries and hospitals.
And Kilombero District Commissioner Dunstan Kyobya said the arrival of the medical equipment is a blessing for the council.
He said, these major improvements made by President Dr. Samia must be supported by the executives so he is giving 15 days to ensure that MSD installs the equipment and the citizens start receiving services.
“I ask MSD to bring their experts to install these devices, it is impossible for our President to do such big things and we should bring him down, it is important to ensure that we are in charge and that citizens start receiving services on time,” he said.
For his part, MSD Representative who is a Pharmacist and Customer Service Officer for Dar es Salaam Region Diana Kimario, said the region serves three regions which are Dar es Salaam, Coast, Morogoro where Ifakara is a beneficiary.
“The arrival of these devices worth 900 million shillings is a continuation of major changes in health sector improvements, we employees within MSD are proud of how our government under President Dr. Samia, our Minister of Health Hon. Ummy Mwalimu and MSD Director Mavere Tukai are ensuring that we work professionally.
He added that as MSD, they have organized themselves through internal improvements, including contracts, to ensure that Medicines and Medical Equipment are available on time, and support the government’s efforts in improving health services in the country.
