Global Fund CEO - Visits MSD
Dar es Salaam.
The CEO of the Global Fund for Development, Mr. Peter Sands, has visited the Medicines Depot (MSD) and observed how MSD carries out its responsibilities.
During the visit, the CEO had the opportunity to visit the MSD-owned health product storage warehouses located in Keko, Dar es Salaam.
Mr. Sands promised that the fund will continue to enable MSD to enhance access to health products, especially for Msonge projects, while commending MSD for successfully distributing mosquito nets in the country.
For his part, the Director General of MSD, Mr. Mavere Tukai, thanked Mr. Sands for continuing to collaborate with MSD in various aspects of the health product supply chain, while noting the various improvements currently being made by MSD, including strengthening storage by adding warehouses, strengthening storage systems, IT and adding some staff in various cadres according to the needs of MSD's responsibilities.
He added that other areas include strengthening the procurement of health products, monitoring and the ability to analyze and process information, in line with the development of MSD's capital.
In another step, Mavere noted that MSD has continued to succeed in the procurement and distribution of products for ongoing projects, in line with working on various issues raised by the Auditor General of the fund.
