The Egyptian Government Provides Medical Equipment Assistance to Tanzania
The Egyptian Embassy in Tanzania, today, September 8, 2022, has provided medical equipment to the Government of Tanzania, to improve health services in the country.
The equipment, worth 27 thousand US dollars (USD 27,000), which is equivalent to approximately 62.9 million Tanzanian shillings, has been officially handed over to the Tanzanian government.
Handing over the assistance, the Egyptian Ambassador to the country, Hon. Mohamed Gaber Abuwafa said that the Egyptian government will continue its efforts to support the Tanzanian government in improving health services.
"The Egyptian government, through its EAPD organization, has provided this assistance to improve health services, it should be noted that this is not the first assistance and it will not be the last, as our countries have developed long-standing relations in various fields, so in addition to this assistance, we look forward to establishing cooperation in the future in exchanging expertise and professionals through the health sector". Hon. Abuwafa added that the Egyptian government is looking into the possibility of investing in the country in the pharmaceutical and medical equipment sectors, in order to develop long-term relations between the two sides.
"The Egyptian government will continue to support various sectors in the country, including the establishment of pharmaceutical industries, to support the efforts of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, in improving and bringing health services closer to the community at affordable prices," said Ambassador Abuwafa.
Receiving the assistance on behalf of the Government of Tanzania, the Chief Government Pharmacist Daudi Msasi, thanked the Egyptian government through its embassy in the country, for providing Tanzania with this assistance, and stressed that it will be a catalyst for improving the health of its citizens.
"On behalf of the government of Tanzania, we congratulate and thank the Egyptian government for providing us with this assistance to improve the health of Tanzanians and the existing cooperation between our nations, we hope that this will not be the last assistance, but a continuation of further cooperation between our nations." said Msasi
