Dr. Mollel advises MSD on How to Improve Access to Health Products in the Country.
Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Godwin Mollel has advised the Tanzania Medical Devices Agency (MSD) to develop a long-term plan to talk to manufacturers of medicines and other health products from countries that produce these products, to come and invest in Tanzania, a move that will facilitate the availability of health products in the country.
The Deputy Minister said this during the launch of the East African International Health Products Stakeholders Exhibition that began today in Dar es Salaam.
He added that MSD should also look into how to enter into agreements with countries that produce health products to make it easier to buy directly from them, to reduce costs and facilitate the acquisition of products that meet demand.
The leader also encouraged these foreign manufacturers to come and invest in Tanzania by entering into partnerships with the government.
For her part, the Head of the MSD Communications and Public Relations Unit, Ms. Etty Kusiluka, thanked Dr. Mollel for the advice, and promised to convey it to the MSD Management so that it can be worked on.
In addition, he continued to invite citizens and various stakeholders to visit the MSD pavilion at the exhibition, so that they can obtain various information related to MSD, along with understanding how the institution carries out its responsibilities.
The East African International Health Products Exhibition is being held for three days at the Diamond Jubilee Hall, located in Dar es Salaam, bringing together stakeholders from various countries.
