The Director General of MSD, Mr. Mavere Ali Tukai, has held discussions with the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), Mr. Eliakim C. Maswi, on the best way to improve the procurement of health products, following several challenges facing the Drug Depot in the area.

Mavere has explained to the Chief Executive Officer his perspective on procurement in various fields such as laws, procedures, guidelines and the TANEPS system.

Through the meeting, Mavere has identified various challenges facing the Drug Depot in terms of procurement, and the best way to resolve them, in order to improve the availability of Medicines and Medical Equipment in the country.

For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of PPRA, has congratulated Mr. Mavere for being appointed to the position, while promising to work quickly on the various procurement challenges facing MSD.

In addition, he emphasized that public institutions have different needs, thus promising to highlight and resolve the identified challenges to improve public procurement.
