Coast Regional Chief Medical Officer, Commends the Collaboration Between MSD and Its Customers.
The Dar es Salaam Medical Distribution (MSD) Zone has organized a working session with its stakeholders in the Coast region held in the Coast Region - Kabaha District at the Mwalimu Nyerere College to discuss together how to improve the availability of health products.
Speaking at the session, the Coast Regional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Urio Kusirye said that the working sessions are important as they contribute to ensuring that health services within the Coast Region are sustainable and good.
“We should have sessions like this to ensure that all the challenges that arise in our daily operations are discussed together and resolved together”.
However, Dr. Kusirye added that compared to when they started and where they are now, MSD has significantly improved its services, explaining that health products that were previously available in limited quantities are now readily available at health care facilities.
"We agree that we have several operational challenges that can be resolved by meeting together and strategizing on how to solve those challenges." Added Dr. Kusirye
The Dar es Salaam Regional Manager, Ms. Betia Kaema, said at the meeting that they have set resolutions with their stakeholders who serve the Coast Region, where these resolutions will be measured in the next financial year to know what has been done.
He also added that as MSD celebrates 30 years of service since its inception, it has been making several improvements to ensure that the goals of serving the average Tanzanian are achieved because, as the MSD motto says, "We are determined to save lives".
He added that they, as the Dar es Salaam region, have planned to ensure that they provide quality and professional services, by ensuring that health products are available on time and reach their targets, as that is what Tanzania needs due to the major improvements made in the country in the health sector, including infrastructure improvements which must go hand in hand with the availability of medicines and medical equipment.
