MSD Strengthens Availability of Laboratory Products in the Country
The Medical Device Depot (MSD) has committed to improving the availability of laboratory products in the country, in order to strengthen the investigation of various pathogens in the country.
This was stated by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of (MSD) Rosemary Silaa, when she visited the Bukoba Regional Referral Hospital and the Bukoba Rural District Hospital, a visit that aimed to receive feedback on MSD services from customers, marking the 30th anniversary of MSD starting its official work.
Silaa said MSD has taken various steps to improve the laboratory area including hiring experts in the cadre, who are currently available in all MSD Zones.
In addition, he commended the Government for its efforts to standardize laboratory machines from the dispensary level to the national level, so it remains the responsibility of MSD to ensure that they are available on time and at all times, a process that is currently ongoing.
Speaking at different times, the Acting Medical Officer of the Bukoba Regional Referral Hospital, Dr. Sophia Mosha said that laboratory services have been important in testing samples when epidemics occur, thus requesting MSD to strengthen the area, as it has done in other areas.
They have also commended MSD for improving the availability of health products, as currently out of stock has decreased and the level of availability of products has been increasing day by day.
The Bukoba District Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gavyole Bandioti has commended the good relations between them and MSD, noting that this closeness has enabled them to solve the various challenges they face in a timely manner.
For his part, the MSD Kagera Zone Manager, Kalendero Msatu, has promised to continue to work closely with customers to solve the challenges they face for their customers.
