The Minister of Health, Hon. Ummy Mwalimu, today launched the new Board of Trustees of the Tanzania Medical Depot (MSD) and directed the Board members to ensure that they facilitate the improvement of access to quality and affordable health products.

Minister Ummy explained to the Board members that they will be assessed by looking at the actual situation of access to health products at health care facilities in the country.

He also stressed that they ensure that in all MSD responsibilities they comply with all laws, regulations and procedures of public procurement, in order to bring efficiency and productivity in performance, in parallel with eliminating audit issues.

For her part, the Chairperson of the MSD Board of Trustees, Ms. Rosemary Silaa, has called on MSD employees to change and carry out their duties with professionalism, in order to change the image built on the unsatisfactory performance of the institution.

The members include Ms. Rosemary Silaa who is the Chairperson, Dr. Julius Mwaiselage, Dr. Ntuli Kapologwe, Meshack Anyingisye, Rehema Katuga, John Mathew Mnali, Dr. Mwamvita Kissiwa, Dr. Danstan Hipolite Shewiyo and Brenda Msangi.
