Mbeya Zone

Mbeya zone, one of 10 MSD zones, was established in 1998 as a Sales Point center serving two regions, Mbeya and Rukwa, with almost 240 health facilities within the Regions. In the year 2000, the sales point was upgraded to a Zonal office with more authority in executing its operations; the zone is located in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania and currently serves three regions: Mbeya, Rukwa, and Songwe, as well as the Makete district of Njombe region for logistical reasons.

Mtwara Zone

Established in 1994, the Mtwara Zone serves two regions, Mtwara and Lindi, as well as Tunduru District in the Ruvuma Region. The zone serves 664 customers across 16 councils—nine in Mtwara, six in Lindi, and one in Tunduru.

Kilimanjaro Zone

Kilimanjaro zone was established in 1998 and is located in the Northern part of the country. Kilimanjaro zone serves three regions: Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Manyara. This zone serves three (3) regions with seventeen (19)councils, with a population of 6.110 million people (census statistics of 2022), Arusha, a population size of 1.356 million, Kilimanjaro, 1.861 million, and Manyara, 1.892 million. Kilimanjaro zone serves a total of 860 Public Health Facilities. These facilities include Government facilities and Faith-based Organizations.

Dar es Salaam Zone

Dar es Salaam Zone focuses on efficiently supplying quality pharmaceutical and medical products throughout the zonal service care area. As one of MSD’s key zonal centers, the Dar es Salaam Zonal Store is vital in ensuring a reliable supply chain for medical products, supporting healthcare facilities, and optimizing distribution within the Dar es Salaam zone. The Dar es Salaam zone is one of the ten (10) zones at MSD located in the eastern part of Tanzania. It started its activities as the cost center in 2009 with 17 staff.

Dodoma Zone

Dodoma SBU was established in 2007, serving two regions, Dodoma and Singida, and one district of Manyara (Kiteto District for logistical reasons), which makes a total of sixteen district councils. Dodoma SBU, located in Central Tanzania, also serves as a Hub for storing health commodities for nearby zones such as Tabora, Mwanza, Iringa, and Kagera. It serves 741 health facilities in different areas, from dispensaries to the national level. These facilities include Government facilities and Faith-Based Organizations.
