MSD Staff Conduct Working Visit to the Zanzibar Central Medical Stores Agency (CMSA)
Staff from the Forecasting Unit of the Medical Stores Department (MSD) conducted a working visit to the Zanzibar Central Medical Stores Agency (CMSA) with the objective of gaining insight into how MSD services support the agency’s operations and jointly discussing operational challenges to further improve healthcare services for citizens in both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Speaking during the visit, CMSA Acting Director General, Ms. Lulu Sheikh Abdulrahman, stated that her institution highly values its longstanding partnership with MSD across various areas, including the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that enables CMSA to procure medicines from MSD.
She added that MSD has consistently provided satisfactory services, which has enabled CMSA to source certain medicines through the Medical Stores Department.
On his part, MSD Acting Manager for the Forecasting Unit, Mr. Oscar Tenganamba, noted that the visit had strengthened the commitment to further enhancing collaboration, particularly in the area of forecasting health commodities. He emphasized that the existing MoU between the two institutions will continue to facilitate the timely delivery of health products requested by CMSA to Zanzibar, in accordance with the agreed terms.
As part of the visit, the MSD delegation also had the opportunity to tour the CMSA pharmaceutical warehouse and observe firsthand how health commodities are stored and managed.
